Better Hearing and Speech Month

May is Better Hearing and Speech Month which is right around the corner! We will once again be offering free speech-language screenings for children throughout the month by appointment. Please call (330)307-7983 if you would like to schedule. Space is limited, so don't wait! We are already planning for summer therapy! If you are interested in therapy services for your child during the summer months, contact us. We are so excited to have Ms.Brittany our counselor/art therapist and art teacher back from maternity leave! She is planning children's Summer Art Groups to start up in June! We are currently in search of a pediatric music therapist and a pediatric OT (with strong background in treating sensory processing issues) to be part of our multi-disciplinary team. About the Owner

Hi! My name is Andrea Moore, and I have been practicing in the field of speech-language pathology in the Youngstown area since 2003. I have worked in a variety of settings, which has given me the opportunity to develop skills and gain experience working with a diverse caseload of clients. I worked in an outpatient facility for over six years until after my second child was born. I have also worked in preschools, skilled nursing facilities, public schools, and of course private practice! I consider children to be my specialty, especially those with language delays and articulation/phonological disorders. I have experience working with children with hearing impairments, who have autism/autism spectrum disorders, apraxia of speech, voice disorders, and fluency disorders to name a few! I also enjoy working with adults who stutter, have vocal abuse disorders, have aphasia, or who want to modify an accent.

I am licensed in the state of Ohio and hold a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in speech-language pathology. I graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in communication disorders from Baldwin-Wallace College and an M.A. in speech-language pathology from Kent State University. I am a member of both the Ohio Speech-Language Hearing Association (OSLHA) and the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA). I regularly attend conferences and seminars for continuing education to keep up with the latest trends in the field and to stay current on best practices.

I love my job and working with individuals and families to help them achieve their communication goals!

Payment Methods

Beyond Expectations is a private therapy company. We accept all insurances as an out-of- network therapy provider. Therefore, payment is due at each session, but we provide you with a bill containing the necessary diagnostic and procedure codes for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. It is important for you to speak with your insurance provider prior to the initiation of services to find out whether speech therapy is covered by your plan, and if so, which diagnoses they will pay for and whether they reimburse for out-of-network providers. Generally, insurance companies will pay for the initial evaluation so this is another question to ask. It is important to note that many insurance companies will not cover therapy services if your child does not have a medical diagnosis ("medically necessary") and most companies do not cover for developmental delays.

We can provide you with more information on understanding insurance companies and speech therapy coverage if you contact us.

If insurance will not cover therapy, do not rule out therapy. Please talk to us about our rates and payment methods.

Group therapy is an option for reduced costs if your child is felt to be an appropriate candidate and depending on availability.

If your child attends an on-line school and qualifies for services through an IEP, the school may be able to pay for the services at no charge to you. Extended School Year (ESY) services are available if your child qualifies.

If your child requires an evaluation for disability determination through the Bureau of Disabilities, contact us.
